Metro tales

Any subway user will try to simplify his journey by standing at the right extremity of the platform when the train arrives in order to avoid useless steps upon arrival at their destination. It's a game I am sure I am not the only one to take pleasure in. (New, or less frequented stations are always a guessing game).

Maybe it's just me, but I have gotten to the point where I have analysed the floor markings on the metro platforms and know exactly where to stand before the metro arrives in order to be placed right smack where the doors will be. This priviledged knowledge permits me to snicker freely at those who will obviously be left standing in front of the wagon wall and have to walk back towards the doors and thus stand in queue.

A clue: look down. The black stone flooring has a subtle small white halo (from the wear and tear of passengers' to and fro), whereas other areas are buffed and darker (they basically appear soft and blurry). You would think the darker areas would be those of most traffic, but no! This particular stone, when knawed at, actually gets paler.
It's the designer in me...

This said, I now feel I need another challenge in public transportation....

Fuego's flame extinguished

My favorite café, daily jaunt for yummy lattes, is now closed. Aldo and Martin came to my workplace to announce the news/say goodbye (ok, THAT is how often I go, you drift?). It just won't be the same. Probably better for my waistline, but still...

Note: their looser, money-grubbing owner has reposessed their place, so I beg all Montrealers to avoid this business from now on. Fuego just ain't Fuego without the warmth of these two guys... Best of luck to you both, and I'll miss ya oodles! Thumbs up, boys!

I have hurt myself again

A small video I enjoyed assembling this eve to fit with my fetish tune that seemed oh-so-right right now . Clips from a night at a bar, il y a des lustres de celà. Enjoy.
